@lindsayfickas Jesus came for the human heart first and foremost not our behaviors. However, a properly aligned heart will have behaviors that follow it.
@lindsayfickas I grew up in the church and received the same media message you’re speaking of. The almost Pharisaical “don’t watch non-Christian movies/music and don’t associate with those who do.” As I’ve matured in my faith in Christ, I’ve realized that message had good intent...
@lindsayfickas Does this mean we can’t enjoy culture ever again? No. But it does mean we must continually, on a personal level, evaluate the motive we have when enjoying culture as well as the after affects it has on our heart and pursuit of holiness. The after effects it has on our view of God
@lindsayfickas Part of living our best life in Christ is pursuing holiness. As the Bible instructs, this involves “setting our minds on things above.” Additionally, we must remember we were created by God to worship Him. Worship/worship music was created by God.
@lindsayfickas This is a far BETTER life than this earth can ever offer you; a life that can only be found in and through Him. If we truly believe in abundant life FOMO on earth for the Christian is a lie straight from the enemy.
@lindsayfickas but horrible packaging.
I’ve learned God of the Bible does not desire to “take all your fun away.” According to scripture, Jesus came to give LIFE and give it more abundantly. This is something that happens spiritually through our relationship with him.
