Note to self: You don't have to put up with minimal effort. There are people in this world willing to drive 4 hours round trip just to have breakfast with you.
I think it's time to move on.
I don't feel right being here anymore with who is in charge.
You can find me on Instagram at https://t.co/iTjf3JiV8L or if we've interacted here for a while you're welcome to come find me on Facebook.
It's been fun! Take care, friends π
Itβs not as if we needed another example of how the loudest man in the room will still tend to be preferred over the most qualified woman, but yet, here it is.
Many Canadian conservatives appear to have forgotten they donβt live in the United States. Canada will be hit by U.S. tariffs. Canada will be more vulnerable if NATO collapses. Canada will likely be inundated with people leaving the U.S. if mass deportations do indeed take place. Canada will face the possible ripping up of our trade deals. Cheering online wonβt feel the same once our country starts facing the reality of what is to come.
Had to do something tonight I never thought I would have to. I texted my Dad and thanked him for never voting against me. For never voting for a party that would even consider taking my rights away.
A good chunk of daughters in the US aren't going to be able to say the same.
@pianobar77 I think I speak for most non-americans when I say it blows our mind. Like this shouldn't be close at all. We shouldn't have needed to turn on the news to find out who won.
I hate to say this, but I think this breaks America. I don't know what that looks like long-term but damn.
Please tell me I did not just listen to someone on CNN say " democracy is a luxury when you can't pay your bills".
I fucking heard that wrong right? Please tell me I did. America this is your problem. Democracy is not a luxury.
@pianobar77 I wish there was something I could say that would make this easier.
I hope you know there are so many people who support you and love you, and don't want any of this for you.
So they vote for this, they vote to codify abortion rights, and then they vote Republican?! Make it make sense.
Spoiler alert... You can't. I have good friends who live in Missouri and they can't make it make sense.
And while I think taking those rights away would be a lot harder in Canada, it's never impossible. This is how hard things can swing in 10 years.
And every single day I become more and more thankful that I got sterilized.
This is no world for kids.
When people ask why I pushed so hard in my twenties to get a tubal ligation I'm going to point them to this moment right here. 10 years ago when I started that push I would never have thought we'd be sitting here tonight with the USA potentially voting to strip people's rights.
