"We played a rough demo for Britney, and she really liked the lines about hypnotherapy and Jekyll & Hyde, so she decided to record it. It wasn’t one of those situations where they said, ‘give us publishing or we’re not putting it out,’ or ‘I’m this artist, I need publishing even if I didn’t write it.’ She definitely came up with her parts and was very entitled to ask for publishing. She wasn’t trying to get in on it.

I remember being invited to a video set and meeting a Britney fan who loved Scary. They started singing her part of the song, and of course, they didn’t know that’s the part I had nothing to do with."
