Thank you to this group of fall sports participants who went to Prairie View Elementary School yesterday to share some words of encouragement with the younger students. Many related their comments to PVE’s monthly theme of ATTITUDE. All 10 fall sports were represented! 🧡🖤
Today was dubbed “senior skip day” and these are most of our baseball seniors showing up and having fun with a dress up day. This is leadership! Thank you for being present baseball seniors. ❤️ @_OHS_Baseball#OregonAchieves
Our PVE teachers miss our students so much, we made them this video to remind them to stay positive during these rough times. Thank you @andygrammer for making such a perfect song for our staff to share! PVE Staff Lip Sync https://t.co/ZGOPg9CTun via @YouTube
Remember when they said we need state tests & report cards because otherwise teachers & principals would slack off?
Well, testing & state report cards are canceled and all I see are teachers & principals working harder than ever before.
Let’s trust our professionals.
3 things I hope parents & the public will now appreciate a little bit more about educators:
1. How huge the responsibility it is.
2. How much planning and preparation goes into being an educator.
3. The magnitude of putting someone else’s child first & often before ones own.
With schools shut for at least two-and-a-half weeks, DPI said Monday it would waive required instructional hours if a school district applies, and the education agency is working to suspend state testing requirements. https://t.co/2CrZuA7yv8
Dear National School Leaders,
Please waive state testing for the entire nation. This is on the minds of all educators. Our country is vulnerable, particularly our educators and students. I implore you, take this burden from us.
Sincerely,
Concerned Educator
My goal is & has always been to advocate for all kids & ensure we remove the word “those” from the sentence - “those kids”. They are our kids & we don’t pick & choose our kids, we accept & advocate for them all!
BELIEVE in your students. You’ll usually get what you expect.
BUILD strong relationships. A smile, a fist bump, laughing together—your efforts to connect make the difference.
BRING positive energy. Your students get hyped for learning when you’re hyped for learning. Let’s go!
