Today was Veterans Day at WAMS. Our 6th-grade students spent the morning hearing historical war stories from the six Veteran guests and seeing authentic military uniforms from multiple eras. We concluded the morning by thanking the veterans for their service to our country.
WAMS Peer Leaders organized the annual holiday gift of kindness drive to support our local YMCA. The WAMS community was extraordinarily generous in donating over 140 gifts to the YMCA who provides assistance to local families in need. Thank you all who participated!!!
We wanted to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! May you enjoy your time with friends and family! As a reminder, Wednesday, Nov 27th is a 11:40 AM dismissal for WAMS students. Bernards Twp Schools are closed on Nov 28th and Nov 29th. School reopens on Dec 2nd!
This week is Week of Respect. There will be three challenges throughout the week to encourage students/staff to engage in respectful acts. During Viking Voices, there will be a lesson on respect where students can reflect on the challenges completed/discuss respectful actions.
On Thursday, August 29th is WAMS Open House from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Please remember to bring a copy of your schedule. There is no formal presentation or tours. Students must be accompanied by an adult during their visit. Looking forward to a great school year!!!
Congratulations to the WAMS wind ensemble, jazz band, chamber orchestra, Philharmonic, and chamber choir all received superior ratings and placed 1st in the Music In The Parks Competition this past weekend.
Congratulations to the WAMS Green Teams who won the first annual WAMS Color Clash!!! Thank you to the PTO Parent Volunteers and staff for making field day a success!!!
Our field day kicked off today with a teacher tug-of-war between the green, gold and blue team teachers. The Gold team teachers out muscled their colleagues to take the win!!!
WAMS will welcome guest speaker, Tova Friedman, on Friday, March 2, 2018, as part of 7th Grade Holocaust Remembrance Day. This WAMS activity has been nationally recognized as a Promising Practice!
