@PrincipalsTrust@BreneBrown There is a lot of curiosity surrounding the shift to Standards Based Grading in SDUSD. I see teachers very curious about how students will respond to this instructional shift.
@PrincipalsTrust@BreneBrown@brenebrown states in the introduction that “The center will hold”. For me, this is a great reminder to trust, value, and appreciate the team I’ve built. They want to support me just as much as I want to support them.
Wednesday Night Wrap Up w/ The Principals Trust
Book Talk:
Building authentic relationships with children requires restraining judgment and believing in their spirit. #thehouseintheceruleansea
Shoptalk:
As adults we have to model what we expect of students.
First one in the books! The Principals’ Trust is proud to represent @sdschools at our first conference. We loved sharing our origin story and what this group has meant to all of us.
This book helped us talk about what we needed to clear out and what habits we needed to support each other with. Thank you @gretchenrubin for this book that did make us smile and think!
This book reminded us that we can be the women who fix each other's crowns, without having to tell the world it was crooked. @lisanapoli gave us the story of pioneers who endured to open doors. We spent our time talking about how much has changed and how little has changed.
We are six female school leaders who meet weekly for a book club that fosters love and helps us support each other. We choose love and solidarity over competition and division.
"My wish for you is that you continue. Continue to be who and how you are, to astonish a mean world with your acts of kindness. Continue to allow humor to lighten the burden of your tender heart." #MayaAngelou
Your demography does not determine your destiny -Cindy Marten @BeKindDreamBig Thank you for your relentless leadership @sdschools and moving on to share your gifts and dreams with ALL the beautiful children at the national level.
Gratitude and love have kept us all hanging on this school year. I’m so blessed to work in a community that lifts everyone in the building. #principalappreciationday@sdschools
Luxury is being a principal at your child’s school. This gives me a special lens to lead and love with. Thanks @sdschools for ensuring a safe return to on campus learning for our students. #grateful
Q6: 1- Keep equity as top priority. Don’t let the next initiative lessen the priority on equity. 2- Increase quality of feedback. Ts & Ss need constant praise and push. 3- Reprioritize our need to read against our need to scroll. Promote literacy for adults & kids. #leadupchat
