It’s a full house! All staff learning this morning around Tier 1 academic and behavior structures. Thank you, @BSachak for facilitating conversations and learning today.
@TechNinjaTodd dropping wisdom this afternoon. I didn’t know my principal heart needed him today until it happened! Laughter, encouragement and most importantly - validation. This is hard work. But, we matter and you matter too! Excellent end to my day at #NAESP22
True words from @DrRachaelGeorge and @MajaliseTolan “it’s not orderly and it can be a hot mess” & remembering to empower the organization to lead #sheleadsk12#NAESP22
Shark Dissection 2021 was a great success! Students applied all of their knowledge of shark anatomy today. It was amazing to see their connections from classroom learning to our exploration of real sharks. #WatchWINGSSoar
Reading to your children daily is the best thing you can do for their development. @cglibrary & @CityOfCG Mayor’s Reading Club is a great way to volunteer & help these students grow. Kinder classes @ Desert Willow we’re attentive & engaged!
Fourth-graders worked in collaborative teams to Save Fred! Students used the engineering design process to develop solutions and turn their paper clips into tools. They made so many improvements during the rescue!
4th/5th grade students started a garden project playlist to get our school garden started. We started with measuring the plots and calculating the area and volume. They started their plans on graph paper. Next steps are to research plants for the season and build their models.
For school leaders who are accustomed to de-prioritizing themselves: if this pandemic has taught us nothing else, it’s taught us that health and well-being is no longer a nice-to-have. It’s a necessity.
5th graders chose how to demonstrate their understanding of close reading. This is the first skill in our progression for 5.RL/RI.1. They used a single-point rubric and had to evaluate the best way to show their learning. They created posters, slides, videos, etc. #StudentAgency
Congrats to this guy who steered the ship while I couldn’t and nailed it. Because of people like you, our school is off to great places already. Way to go, Groh - you are valued!! @GrohJeffrey#GameOn#HeLeveledUp
Students devised solutions to stack ten cups in a pyramid without directly touching them. Their ideas included the use of shoes, chip cans, compact discs, popsicle sticks, and Playdoh. #WatchWINGSSoar
