Minister for Education and MP for Tamale South, Hon Haruna Iddrisu Writes…✍️
“This morning, H.E. President John Dramani Mahama formally inaugurated the Ghana National Research Fund (GNRF), fulfilling yet another key manifesto commitment.
The GNRF is more than an academic fund; it is a strategic national instrument designed to drive productivity, industrialization, innovation, and sustainable development. By supporting research that addresses national priorities and strengthens scientific capacity, the Fund will contribute meaningfully to Ghana’s socio-economic transformation.
To ensure its continuous operationalization, the Government, through GETFund, has committed a seed capital of GH¢100 million.
On behalf of the Ministry of Education and the Ghana National Research Fund, we express our profound gratitude to President Mahama for his unwavering support and leadership in making this important national vision a reality.”

I’ve often heard boys and men say that they do not fear being caught in acts of sexual misconduct as they fear not performing well or having impressive manhoods in the event that they be recorded and their affairs made public.
The recent incident from Bole Senior High gives reason to their posture. The “boys club” and “huge-manhood-loving girls club” reduce these matters to size and performance.
The real issues of crime (in cases of defilement and rape), ethical wrongs, breach of trust and professional misconduct (like the case of a teacher sleeping with their students) are relegated. Why would anyone be deterred from these acts when they know the boys and girls club would rather hail the size of their cock than question their professionalism or hold them accountable for their breach of trust?
Yes, the state authorities have or are acting on this matter. GES has interdicted the teacher and he would be prosecuted should the facts disclose criminality. HOW about moral outrage and repudiation? I see none. All I see is talks of getting measuring rods and tape measures and envy of his manhood. I even saw people faulting him for not taking the student to a hotel instead. To those people, sleeping with a student is not the problem, it is the location that is the problem.
The Interior Minister, in his last interview with Kwasi Pratt, on Pan African Television, revealed that defilement is one of the most prevalent crimes in Ghana today. Our moral posturing, where we analyze manhood sizes and masculine endurance in situations where video evidence of sexual misconduct becomes public is a serious contributor to the prevalence of these incidents.
We must be careful and serious as a republic. The character of the individual, the worse of us, is a reflection of what the average of us tolerates. With our posture, we tolerate defilement, rape and breach of public trust. We’re all criminals in a loose sense of the word and we’re all morally bankrupt.
We need a moral reset.
Have a nice day.
