Our revolutionary sister, Denise Oliver-Velez, has passed away. She was a Bronx-raised activist who served in the Black Panther Party and the Young Lords Party—her writing and work as an anthropology and women's studies professor left a lasting mark. May she rest in power.
@nithyavraman CA AG Bonta endorsed Mayor Karen Bass for reelection.
He praised her leadership & proactive work to keep entertainment & Hollywood jobs local: Bass is leading local policy reforms to retain production within L.A.
-while Nithya's authored NO legislation to help the film industry
I am not supporting DSA candidates. I will come out in opposition to all of them.
The audacity of taking policies Democrats have fought for, expanding healthcare, strengthening social services, making our tax dollars work for working people, and building a country that serves more than the wealthiest 1%, and then weaponizing those same goals against the Democratic Party as if governing is as simple as yelling that Democrats are not doing enough.
Policy requires power.
To pass federal legislation, you need majorities in the U.S. House and Senate and a president willing to sign it into law. Yet many of the same DSA aligned people I see on my timeline were willing to withhold support from electing that president because of a conflict happening in another country.
And this goes far beyond Washington. You need majorities in state legislatures. You need governors. You need mayors, county commissioners, and school board members. If you actually want transformative policy, you build majorities of people who can enact it.
You do addition. You do not just target Democrats for replacement in deep blue districts while leaving Republicans untouched and then pretend you are building political power.
And if your stated mission was to come into the Democratic Party and destroy it from within, do not turn around and demand loyalty from Democratic voters when you want our votes, our infrastructure, our resources, and our support.
You told us we were not your people.
I heard you.
You will not get my respect. You will not get my vote. And when you run against Democrats, I want you to lose.
A few days ago I wrote about how the Fight Agency/New Left ecosystem just hasn't been taking candidate vetting seriously enough. As if it doesn't really matter - https://t.co/tDZCPS1VfW
Possible we're now seeing this carelessness manifest in the Michigan Senate primary too.

Track AIPAC is NOT a legit watchdog.
Its co-founder lives in Germany - trying to influence American elections w antisemitic propaganda.
& apparently AIPAC tracker has a thing for racists..

I am incredibly honored to have the support of @ElissaSlotkin, a singular leader who has shown Democrats in mid-Michigan and across the country how to take on tough fights and win. She never sits back when the stakes are high, and we are lucky to have her fighting for Michigan every day.
No one understands this district, its voters, or what it takes to win here better than Senator Slotkin. I’m grateful for her trust in me, and I’m ready to follow her example: fight for every vote, defeat Tom Barrett, flip this seat, and help take back the House so we can put a check on Donald Trump.
@nithyavraman Paramount’s corporate consolidation is NOT a good deal for democracy.
BUT Nithya, a DSA member is not telling Los Angelenos:
DSA's national leadership (members of its board of directors) are not only against free markets, they want to overthrow capitalism with communism🙄
El Sayed has been an advocate for Medicare for All for nearly a decade, and healthcare reform has been a centerpiece of his campaigns. He even co-authored a book titled “Medicare for All: A Citizen’s Guide.” But he refuses to say how much it will cost?
Black voters and Black leaders have spent the last decade explaining why they do/do not support specific candidates. I don't know that you can get any clearer than “I know Joe. We know Joe. But most importantly, Joe knows us." The case is closed. People just aren't listening.
@WeWill2026@mahmoudkhalel Will you "fight for" southern, Black American lawmakers who are targets of Trump’s effort to gut the Voting Rights Act?🙄

NOT William Lawrence
Here's my long-awaited take on the Graham Platner failure. A stunning waste of everyone's time perpetrated by people who only see other Democrats as their enemies. https://t.co/bWS3mWNAR7
