Reality is the real benchmark for intelligence.
If something works in a demo or performs well on some benchmarks it doesn't mean the problem is solved.
A piece of Dinosaur history has been found! The velociraptor statue formerly in the extended queue of Dinosaur at Animal Kingdom has been relocated to the Indiana Dinosaur Museum in South Bend Indiana. The statue currently sits in the gift shop of the museum.
How are we actually going to solve the AI poster epidemic? Must we be subjected to horrible identical slop from every single pub and shop for the rest of time?
Final update: here's the footage from after the AI short aired at Annecy. When creating art we have to think of the mediums we use and the message that is conveyed. In this case, one cannot critique fascism while actively engaging (and supporting) it via the medium used (a LLM).
Getting accused of using AI in fics when you haven't is shit, yes. But if your conscience is clear, you will overcome that 🤷🏻♀️ Personally, I was never scared of people accusing me bc if they did, I know they're wrong. It would annoy me, sure, but i wouldn't feel guilty
you can't be 100% sure, but you can have a clear enough picture to scroll away or exit the ao3 tab. there is research that humans who have trained themselves can, indeed, tell when something is AI-generated or -assisted.
also, unpopular opinion, but the reality is: detectors only work when authors were sloppy enough to copy directly from claude. we do need to train ourselves to recognise AI tells in written content. names, hallucinations, cadence, voice, sentence structure, etc.
The fact that Sony created the Blu-ray and put BD drives in the PS3 (and DVD drives in the PS2 before) and are now abandoning disc drives in their future consoles is kind of astonishing when you think about it.
What puzzles me about AI is why is there so much enthusiasm for a technology that seems, in large part, to be completely pointless...?
Doesn't matter how clever it is. If customers aren't using it, then it's pointless...
ai slop fics got tens of thousands of kudos and you want me to believe the average ao3 user is capable of giving valuable writing criticism and feedback to authors? lmaooooo
