Payments Council of India: "UPI will continue to remain free for consumers, and small merchants will not be charged for accepting digital payments."

"Banks, fintech companies, NPCI, and the RBI have been investing in technology, cybersecurity, fraud prevention, and innovation to maintain UPI’s reliability. Any merchant service charges, where applicable, would be commercial arrangements between merchants and payment providers and would not mean consumers have to pay for using UPI."

The move to levy MDR on UPI transactions above Rs 2000 will lead to these costs being passed onto the consumer .
Someone has to pay the cost to keep 5 crore Merchants and 65 crore consumers connected via UPI.
Banks and Fintechs make huge cross sell revenues , selling other loan and financial products like insurance , mutual funds to this base .
UPI needs to be kept free .
$ 3.8 trillion will
move via UPI in India this year .
Just 4% transactions but 68% of value is above Rs 2000
MDRs will kill this momentum.
UPI brings formalization , financialisation and cross sell opportunities .
The government needs to put the consumer ahead and refuse MDR calls .

आज जब छात्रों के आंदोलन में कुछ ऐसे अवांछित तत्व आ गए थे। 23 जुलाई को 9:30 बजे सोनम वांगचुक जी का X Post है, जिसमें उन्होंने यह कहा कि मुझे बहुत पीड़ा है कि कुछ एंटी सोशल एलिमेंट्स आ गए।

बच्चों से कहूंगा, सावधान रहिए। ये बड़े खतरनाक एलिमेंट हैं। ये अवसरवादी, ये अराजकतावादी हर आंदोलन में चले जाते हैं। ये हर आंदोलन हाइजैक करना चाहते है।
ये CAA में भी घुस जाते हैं, किसान आंदोलन में भी घुस जाते हैं, कुछ पहलवानों के आंदोलन में भी घुस जाते हैं। अब बच्चों के आंदोलन में भी।

तो ये वही मुखौटा है,
जो कभी मुसलमान के पीछे छुपता है,
कभी किसान के पीछे छुपता है,
कभी पहलवान के पीछे छुपता है,
और आज नौजवान के पीछे छुपा है।

इसलिए मैं बच्चों से कहना चाहूंगा कि देखिए, जो बच्चा हैं, वे तो भटका हुआ नौजवान हैं। मगर सत्ता के लालच में पक्की दाढ़ी वाला एक लटका हुआ नौजवान भी है। उससे उन्हें बहुत सावधान रहने की जरूरत है।

Working in close coordination with the civil administration, #IndianCoastGuard Disaster Relief Teams and helicopters carried out round-the-clock rescue missions, reaffirming the Service's unwavering commitment to saving lives and serving the Nation.
