Sadhana brings beauty to your face and grace to your presence❤️
@Gurudev Sri Sri shared wisdom from the Patanjali Yoga Sutras on what gifts does Sadhana and Spiritual Practises bring to your life!
There is so much power in spirituality and so much power in the knowledge of this nation, that not only our wishes are fulfilled but we also have the ability to bless others, so their wishes are fulfilled. And they get fulfilled. This is the power in the knowledge. It is not only Gurudev (me) who can bless, all those who do sadhana, will also receive this power as they are devoted to seva, sadhana and satsang. All three are required. If there is a lack of any of these, then it will not work. If you say that you will do sadhana but not seva, then that will not work.

Nothing in the world can bother you as much as your own mind, I tell you. In fact, others seem to be bothering you, but it’s not others, it’s your own mind. — @Gurudev
Q: Gurudev, I am not able to accept myself as I am. When I see someone else, I feel that other is better than me and that makes me feel low. How do I handle this?
@Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar ji - See Life from a bigger picture. There are so many people who are better than you today. And there are millions more who will come and who will be better than you. What are you going to do?
Why do you compare? God loves everybody and you are loved. Just remember this much. Everybody has their own style, their own fate and you will get what you need to get.
Just by talent you will be successful, is not the criteria, it does not happen that way. If you look around, people who are absolutely not qualified to take up even a clerical job have become billionaires. So there is something called luck and luck will come your way.
Wake up to this reality and stop comparing yourself with anybody and know that you are good. If your heart is clean then you are beautiful and if you are beautiful everything comes your way.
Question - Gurudev, My son earns handsomely and I am retired. But every month I take a certain amount of his money without his knowledge and use it for welfare of the society. I am pained by my action, because it makes me think that I am robbing and will this become a habit in me? I do not know why I do it but I cannot stop myself.
@Gurudev Sri Sri - Do not identify it as theft. If you are doing some good work, negotiate with him that you want to contribute some amount for the welfare of the society and do it within limits.
If he does not listen then don’t worry. When you are living together in one house then you do not have to say, this is his money or my money. The money belongs to everyone.
You have built the house in which both of you are living and you do not take rent from him for living in the house, right?
You are doing a noble act by helping poor children. See how much joy you are bringing to the helpless children. So you do not have to feel sorry about it.
If one is robbing to consume alcohol or indulge in such acts then that is not a correct thing to do.

The Mayor of Battle Creek, Michigan Mark Behnke, declared July 9 as Art of Living Day. The Honorable Governor and the State Senators of Michigan also sent proclamations in appreciation of the work done by the Art of Living in the state.
A certain degree of contentment is needed. You can only get this by seeing life from a broader perspective. If you pay a little attention to the magnitude of the universe and all that is happening here, you don’t just think about failures and successes. You see your life in context to the whole existence. Then you can enjoy life in its totality, and this is what ultimate success looks like!

Q: Gurudev, I feel guilty for my past mistakes and it is eating me up and doesn't let me sleep peacefully. How can I repent in the right way, learn from it, and then truly let go and move on?
@Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar ji - Guilt has a purpose. A little bit of guilt is good. It does not allow you to get into a cycle of actions that are not good for you and for others. When such an action happens, the guilt in you acts like a brake for you not to continue the same act. However, guilt is good in the right amount and only for that period of time. If it goes beyond a limit then it eats you like a termite. If you are stuck in guilt, then your mind cannot blossom; you cannot rise above.
So, you need ‘skill’ to get out of guilt, but at the same time, not totally remove it from the system – till you realize that you are not the doer but the total light, the wisdom, the self. Until that blossoms, a little bit of guilt serves you. It protects you from wrong-doing that you might engage in. To bring about that balance we have spiritual practices, surrendering to the divine, and faith in the higher power and self. Go into the soul, “Satchidananda”- true, blissful, the Consciousness.
Let go of the event which has gone and left its shadow in the consciousness but take this sankalpa (Resolution) that you will not do this action in the future. Your very wish to repent has solved the purpose. This wish is an indication that your intellect is getting matured. Otherwise, you would not have been aware of your wrong actions. You are innocent in the present moment. That person who did a mistake has packed off his suitcase and gone. Now inside you is a new person.
Start believing in the innocence of the present moment where the YOU in you is innocent. Lord Krishna tells Arjuna “I will relieve you from your sins. You just surrender. Then it’s my responsibility to take care of your sins. Don’t worry. Drop all that you are holding onto. Drop even your dharma.” Instead, people try to get rid of their sins. The Divine will relieve you of your sins. All that you need to do is to let go of everything you are holding on to.

Life teaches you the art of letting go in every event. When you have learnt to let go, you will be joyful and as you start being joyful, more will be given to you.
