Great lecture today, hosted by Professor Joy Duxbury on the six core strategies for restraint reduction….and the implementation of REsTRAIN YOURSELF in the UK….some awesome work…lots to think about and help put into practice…

.....These syndromes are commonplace in some care organisations - I wonder which ones would have the courage (or common sense) to actually include these in staff risk assessments....not many I imagine as it would mean acknowledging that these things actually exist....
Just reading some papers for my Human Factors MSc...interesting stuff about the need for the potential risk from workplace bullying and excessive and unrealistic workloads to be appropriately managed under the risk assessment process...

Ha Ha - I have just found out today that in 2013 I had an article published in Autism Advocate, the periodical from the Autism Society of America. The paper was called "You Tube and Autism Spectrum Disorder"....if anyone happens to have a copy, I'd love to read it again :-)
Attended a great lunchtime lecture today, by Dr Gillian Netherlands. Gillian spoke a lot about how the language we use characterises people who may display behaviours of concern and how negatively their behaviour can be viewed. It was a very interesting and insightful hour....
