I’ve never had a college coach ask me what a player is ranked.

Yet rankings carry a lot of weight in how players and families view recruiting.

Where do rankings help—and when do they become a distraction from finding the right college fit?

@ProEdgeWBB | @ProEdgeHoops

[Blake Derrick @_BlakeDerrick]

A team’s ranking or reputation doesn’t define your game.

A respected AAU program can create exposure, but coaches evaluate what YOU bring. Can you defend, make decisions, and impact winning?

Use the platform to prove your value. Let your game speak.

Thank you to @BatsonBBall @PGHTennessee @TinnonBrandon for the write ups and @aaotr100 for the great camp. The work will continue!#CelebrateRarelyGrindDaily🦁

[Blake Derrick @_BlakeDerrick]

Your high school scoring average doesn’t guarantee your college role.

Coaches evaluate how your game translates: Can you defend, make good decisions, play without the ball, & adapt?

Keep developing your scoring—& ways to help your team win when you aren’t scoring.

@ProEdgeWBB

[Blake Derrick @_BlakeDerrick]

A point guard’s job is to make everyone around them better. Know who needs a touch, where teammates are most effective, and when to score or settle the game down. Your impact goes beyond your numbers—it shows in how well your team plays.

In girls basketball, some clubs are offering financial incentives to join their summer teams and covering travel expenses.

How does that change the way families choose a program?

Players, parents, coaches: What are the benefits—and what concerns you?

[Blake Derrick @_BlakeDerrick]

In girls basketball, how much freedom should players have to make mistakes before it affects their minutes?

Players and coaches: How do you distinguish a mistake that’s part of learning from one that calls for a substitution?
