How Chelsea could improve their defense ahead of next season (part 1)🧵
Chelsea’s defensive struggles have been a major talking point among fans over the past few seasons—and those concerns have only grown following Colwill’s ACL injury, which has kept him sidelined for the entire campaign.
There’s real substance behind the criticism. Among the top six sides, only Aston Villa have conceded a higher expected goals (xG) total (46.98) than Chelsea (43.75). When you compare that to league leaders Arsenal, who have conceded just 24.37 xG, the gap becomes even more striking.
If Chelsea are serious about closing that gap and competing at the highest level, significant defensive improvements will be essential.
Actually , JP is a similar profile to Suarez (tho not on the same lvl technically), but that type of striker that is an all rounder, the only thing I want JP to start showing more is presence, ferocity and be aggressive like prime Suarez. But don't bite ppl oooh 😂😂
Other (less realistic) elite options:
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia – A powerful, direct ball carrier with high work rate.
Désiré Doué – More technical and skillful, excels in tight spaces.
The defensive/pivot replacement is what completes the balance — which I would talk about extensively very soon
How Liverpool Could Replace Mohamed Salah. A thread 🧵
Mohamed Salah, one of Liverpool FC’s greatest players, has announced he will be leaving the club at the end of the season. Replacing him individually will be extremely difficult, as his impact and goal contributions have been exceptional—almost irreplaceable.
However, manager Arne Slot has hinted at a possible tactical shift to get the best out of Liverpool’s new signings. Instead of relying on a direct replacement, the team may adopt a system that distributes responsibility more evenly across the attack.
Dear Kopites, according to @TheAthleticFC , after the departure of Mohamed Salah, the Egyptian King, Arne Slot would switch to the famous 4-2-2-2 formation to accommodate Hugo Ekitike, Alexander Isak, and Florian Wirtz.
A lot of you may be wondering how this system works and what type of players need to be signed in the upcoming window. Don’t worryI’ve got you covered. I’ll be posting an extensive thread on Sunday that will analyze the potential new system.
Stay tuned and follow for more tactical reviews. You’ll never walk alone.
@ikeoluwa975635 I don't think Oshimen can fit well into Barca style, he's only good in aerial ball, Oshimen's link up play isn't really good enough too. Alvarez is a better option for me sha. He's been in Laliga so he's more familiar with Laliga style. Lastly Oshimen is prone to injury
Barcelona next striker. A thread 🧵
Barcelona need a new striker. Many Barcelona fans are clamouring for an elite striker who would take the team to the next level. Among the various options, two strikers stand out because of the quality they possess: Victor Osimhen and Julian Álvarez
