Abortion is either the murder of a human child or it isn't. If it is the murder of a human child (which it is) then there is no scenario where it could ever be morally permissible. For the same reason that there is no scenario where intentionally murdering an 18 month old baby could ever be morally permissible. NT Wright is horribly wrong here. Extremely troubling to hear this from someone who is supposed to be a Christian leader and teacher.
And suddenly every unwanted pregnancy is now ‘r’ape. It’s called a loophole. A loophole that will falsely accuse millions of men of ‘r’ape.
Besides, the entire pro-life stance is based on inherent value of the life at the moment of conception. ‘R’ape and incest doesn’t change the value of the life. Thus, the only consistent anti-abortion, pro-life position is zero exceptions.
