@osbornforne In other words, its a form of manufacturer provided financing. All that a right to repair policy would do is cause manufacturers to shift the costs forward to the point of purchase… instead of a new combine being $750k with a 10-year CSA, that same combine will cost $1M+

@osbornforne Dan - the issue with “right to repair” is it doesn’t consider the actual business and financing implications. Many manufacturers of large equipment sell the equipment at cost or a small loss and make their money on the CSA as a way to reduce upfront capital burdens for buyers

It’s an ongoing cycle where the only person benefiting from Walmart is Sam Walton, not his employees, consumers, suppliers, etc
