Been obsessed with the stock market since I was a teenager. Have traded through the dotcom bubble, the financial crisis and just about every market mania since. But I’ve never seen anything like the skepticism surrounding AI. Not even close. Every time one bubble narrative falls apart a new one takes its place. Rumors become headlines. Misleading data goes viral. Claims that could be debunked with 5 minutes of research get repeated by major media outlets, influential investors and Wall Street analysts. It’s relentless and honestly pretty fascinating to watch. Of course there will be spectacular failures and massive wealth destruction along the way. That’s what happens during technological revolutions. But I’ve never witnessed this much effort to convince the world that something so transformative is actually one giant speculative bubble destined to take the entire economy down with it. I understand why AI scares people. What I find harder to understand is why so many investors seem to be rooting for it to fail.

Meloni announces a new decree and 4 new measures to combat violent riots and looting.

She says that people of foreign background constitute half of the 330 people arrested and detained so far.

The new measures include prison sentences of up to 5 years and fines of €20,000 for participating in violent protests.

Under the new decree:

- Rioters acting in groups of 5 or more face tougher penalties, particularly if they conceal their faces or injure someone.

- Parents will be held financially responsible for damage caused by their underage children.

- Preventive detention powers will be extended to minors.

- An additional 500 soldiers will be deployed to Milan until the end of the year.

- Juvenile courts and detention facilities will receive additional resources.

Meloni said hundreds of teenagers, many mobilized through social media, had joined Antifa extremists in the streets to vandalize property, loot stores and film themselves committing crimes.

No. Reports conflict on a brief Starshield speed limit last week that disrupted some Ukrainian drone ops. Musk said US gov/POTUS decides limits on it. Trump denied ordering any such action. Service was quickly restored. Starlink has extensively aided Ukraine's defenses overall. No clear evidence shows active intent by either to help Putin kill civilians.
