Last year’s U18 assistant coach, Biswajit Ghoshal, who guided the boys to the famous Dreams Sports title two years ago, has been promoted to head coach of the U18 team.

Training has already started at the Mohun Bagan AC Ground. Been told that U14 and U16 training sessions will begin after Kali Puja, as trials to select new players have already been completed.

Mohun Bagan SG targeted Perth Glory captain Adam Taggart. Jamie Maclaren, his Socceroos teammate, also had a word with him about joining the Kolkata giants.
Taggart, however, was not in favour of a move to India and instead joined Vietnamese club Hanoi FC, coached by Socceroos legend Harry Kewell. His 61 goals for Perth Glory are the most for the club in the A-League era.

Mohun Bagan SG held talks with Spanish winger/striker Jordi Cano, who had finished as the top scorer of Primera Federación, the third tier of Spanish football. He scored 25 goals last season, including one in the Copa del Rey. Bagan even offered a lucrative three-year contract but could not convince him to come to India.
