#ElvisHistory: June 24, 1977: Elvis Presley famously broke up a fight at a gas station when he saw the attendant being approached by two young men ganging up on him.

All three were stunned when they see who is trying to intervene: Elvis Presley.

Elvis reportedly told them, " I'll take you on."

He made sure that cooler head prevailed and asked, "Is everything settled now?"

Elvis shook hands with people before getting back into his limo and leaving.

A plaque is in place at the location where this happened.

Local legend was written.

Elvis got a kick out the incident saying to the driver, "Did you see those guys' faces?"

He also reportedly said that he'd tell the story for the rest of his life.

Elvis died less than two months afterward.
