#Beacons: Short Films From Wales – Mother’s Day
Tonight at 11pm on BBC Two Wales and #iPlayer
Nah, Blink and HN/FoB are super overrated, and each part of the finale is worst than the previous.
Best 6 episodes in a row is probably
Father’s Day
The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances
Boom Town
Bad Wolf/The Parting of the Ways
Topic for discussion: is this the greatest six episode run of Doctor Who ever?
Human Nature / Family of Blood
Blink
Utopia / Sound of Drums / Last of the Time Lords
Six absolutely blistering episodes, the likes of which we can only dream of today
What do you think??
@HeavenSentUNDRT I was gonna go for this run originally but couldn’t justify Curse being on the same level. Unfortunately I like The Doctor’s Wife less 😅
@nyrobsivad99 In isolation I can kind of agree, but when put with the other two parts of the finale it feels like it’s - pun intended - marching to the beat of its own drum, and it doesn’t know how to stop so it just decides to do a 180 😂
Kind of unrelated but if they can’t do a full series for another couple of years having a year of minisodes would be kinda cool imo (providing we have a Doctor).
@filmbrix@2niposting Bored of you now, it's becoming very clear you're just a bait account. The phrase 'you can't play chess with a pigeon' is ringing true so I'm just going to block you. Not sure if I'm allowed to say this or not, but I don't like you 😂
Don't get me wrong, I don't like the man much but acting like he can't talk about anything other than Doctor Who in interviews is ridiculous. He doesn't owe us news every time he opens his mouth.
He’s happy to talk about a dance stage show in its very formative stages which won’t happen until 2027 but not a special he’s already written which is supposed to air six months from now.
@2niposting@filmbrix And this in itself is the issue with this whole conversation. We should be allowed to like or dislike the man for the reasons we choose to. It’s our opinion. No one gets to decide whether that opinion is “allowed”.
@filmbrix Except there's nothing inappropriate about not liking someone. Telling someone who they are *allowed* (your word) to like and dislike on the other hand? I'd say that's pretty out of order. You don't get to decide that.
@filmbrix They are both people in the public eye. That's all I'm going for here. You can't cordon off people just because they're too big. All three of those are household names in the UK.
@filmbrix@2niposting No, the point is your rules are inconsistent! You can't say "oh yeah there are exceptions" and not say what those exceptions are. Because people view people differently. Some people LIKE Donald Trump. do you not see how your own point is confusing?
@filmbrix -can certainly think of a few people on here who have that kind of relationship with things. But simply liking or disliking a person would never fall under that definition. If the only thing I tweeted about was RTD then ok. But saying I don't like him or critiquing his work? No.
@filmbrix I do. I'm not sure you do though. Disliking someone for their views, attitude, etc. isn't parasocial. If it was then everyone who's ever existed would have had a parasocial relationship with any celebrity they liked or disliked. A parasocial dynamic is much stronger than that. I-
@filmbrix But that also means you can't like them either. It works both ways. Do you not see how stupid that sounds?
"Do you like Russell T Davies?"
"Oh I'm sorry I'm not allowed to comment on that as I don't know him personally."
