@BCADprephmns It's lovely to hear that you agree. Even the best historians like @davidstarkeyCBE give the impression that the man was a tyrant. It's pleasing to see how much you enjoy history - keep it up!
My new paper on Henry VIII will argue that he was entirely bad. Perhaps the most blood-thirsty, bitter and violent leader that Europe has seen in the last 500 years. He thought only of himself and personal gain. #history#tudors
@BCADprephmns If you view the baronies as percentages then 20% rebelled. This was not a rebellion like we see in the English Civil War, this was only the very top of society. Other proof? Basic hospitals, remained in the country in which he was king, proper records. #positive
@BCADprephmns In history it is always about MOST people. The fact that the restoration happened showed that people wanted the idea of monarchy back. It had after all, presided over England for over 1000 years before this point.
Wanting to float the idea of GOOD King John. Any monarch in his position would have done the same. Only 39 of 197 baronies were against him and all kings wanted to avoid war. #History
https://t.co/vysQe5FEKO People are asking for the tapestry to be displayed in the north of England. Why? The Battle of Hastings took place in Hastings #history#itisobvious
