“I’m proud of you, not just today, but every day.”
Fernando Mendoza’s mom, Elsa, always believed in her son. Now, he’s a national champion. https://t.co/aDKpXpJ4TO

One year ago, extraordinary negligence, bad policy and poor resource allocation lead to the destruction of my hometown, Pacific Palisades. Most lost everything - home, possessions with remainder lot values impacted 40%. My 84-year-old neighbor will never return to a community she called home for 60 years… nor will approximately half of the population. Financially and emotionally devistated.
But that was just the beginning…
One day after the fire, the Mayor and Governor of California issued their analysis - act of God and climate change. Our leadership spent not a single day analyzing the underlying reasons that a 100 year old community would burn to the ground. 100 years of architecture. 100 years of rainy seasons, dry seasons and at least 75 days as windy as the one that we faced the night of 1/7/2025. Leadership gave it not a single day. No critical analysis.
That angered me…
The Mayor erased all of her texts despite LA Times requests; The Governor claimed no responsive data for any search associated with Pacific Palisades. Poof. Gone.
That opened my eyes…
This required a much deeper dive. This required citizen involvement. And, I am simply not the type of person who turns my back on pain, on lies, on difficult conversations, or on personal consequences. Nor do I accept 1-day analysis on one of the greatest critical failures a municipality has ever orchestrated. I started investigating, writing and working with the attorneys. You can find all of this at my citizen journalism site - https://t.co/vVCXNh8IqD - where I wrote 75 articles in 2025.
We’ve uncovered a lot this last year. Lies, misdirection, gaslighting, documents altered by government / government agencies, and a comprehensive coverup. This is not just dirty. This is rotten… and we’re barely into discovery.
Last week, I individually funded and co-organized a community rally called “They Let Us Burn.” Global media, thousands of impacted individuals from Palisades, Altadena, Malibu and the impacted area showed up. We spoke truth to power, laid out a 10 point vision for the rebuild, and demanded accountability.
I purposefully took no outside money for this rally - not because I planned to tell anyone, but because I feared even the perception of conflicts.
The night before the rally, the Mayor called me a “profiteer.” I kept the receipts.
We were not left to stand alone against the machine. The 33rd Sheriff of Los Angeles County, our city council member, our lead attorney against the city/state, the former Pacific Palisades firefighter of the year, Spencer Pratt, Heidi Montag, local business owners, citizens from Palisades, Altadena joined me on stage to speak truth and consequences to power.
We live-streamed the event.
My speech lasts for 20 minutes. It starts 27 minutes in.
After you listen, you’ll understand how much has to go wrong for a city to burn.

I never want this to happen to you or your neighbors.
Much love,

@ThorYoung Tell Andrew to make room for that 1M YouTube subscribers plaque that will be coming shortly. Good to see your teachings reach an even wider audience. Best of luck, but I know you won't need it.
@WhiteSandsTM 100% agree. The only downside is that SPY isn't cash settled unlike SPX, so as long as you close out of your positions everyday, you don't have to worry about assignment risk.
@NationMffl You have to realize that the Lakers previous coach didn't play Max a single minute in the playoffs. Pockets didn't understand talent if it hit him in the face.
@Scobleizer Seems like every carve out in policy that Newsome makes is to return a favor or to be vindictive (Panera Bread minimum wage exception (Donor), Intuit Dome Alcohol Hours (Donor), Tesla (Political Enemy)).
