[ON AIR] Demonstrations have being taking place in the Kenyan capital Nairobi over rising cases of femicide and violence against women.
Hundreds of protesters gathered in the city centre, carrying placards bearing the names of victims.
There has been a series of gruesome murders in Kenya, including a musician and activist who was killed and set on fire.
The protesters want femicide declared a national crisis.

CEOs are quietly realizing the AI replacement plan has a problem.
Two problems, actually.
One: the token costs for running AI agents are now exceeding what they were paying the employees they fired.
Two: when the tokens run out, the AI stops. Just stops. No continuity. No workaround. Just a spinning wheel where your workforce used to be.
You fired humans to save money and bought a subscription that bills you into a corner.
The employees you let go knew what to do when things broke.
The AI just invoices you for the outage.
And then there’s the permission problem nobody wants to talk about.
To do its job, the AI agent needs access. Full access. Your systems, your patents, your contracts, your future plans. Everything you spent years building, handed over to a process that has no loyalty, no discretion, and no skin in the game.
You didn’t hire a replacement.
You gave a stranger with no soul the keys to everything you own.
Enjoy.
THIS IS HUGE MORAL MOMENT…
Pope Leo XIV’s first encyclical, Magnifica Humanitas, is focused on AI ethics, human dignity, labor displacement, and regulating artificial intelligence.
And the Vatican chose to partner with Anthropic, currently in a major legal fight with the Trump administration over AI safety and military use of its technology.
Anthropic has publicly resisted pressure around autonomous warfare systems and built its brand around AI safety and “constitutional AI.”
The Church is signaling that AI isn’t just a tech issue. It’s a moral, political, and civilization-level fight now.
She is standing where her grandparents' house used to be on Velvet Street in North Carolina. Behind her is a public works building. That is what replaced the backyard she played in as a child.
That is what eminent domain is. The government takes your land, calls it a transaction, and the paperwork makes it look voluntary. What was lost on that street was not just a house. It was the primary wealth building tool available to Black middle class families in America. Since World War Il homeownership has been the single most reliable path to generational wealth in this country.
When you remove the home you remove the equity, the inheritance, the foundation that the next generation was supposed to build on. North Carolina's Black families did not fall behind by accident. The wealth was taken and the paperwork was filed and the city moved on. Source: ABC Nightline, How Urban Renewal Decimated Black Communities in North Carolina, 2020.🖤

Black people started Memorial Day.
It was originally called Decoration Day and it included a parade, but the most remarkable detail to me is that the newly freed dug up bodies of Union soldiers from mass graves, identified them and gave proper burials.

Morgan State University, Maryland’s largest historically Black college, is expanding its off-campus housing options after another year of record-breaking enrollment. The public research university has seen five straight years of enrollment growth:

The fact that throughout human history and across entirely different continents, women had to develop specific cultural practices just to escape the horrors of wartime men is terrifying. Darfur women had the right idea.
In her research for the origin of STDs, she uncovered how the complete lie that you can get an std from a toilet seat was created by doctors (probably also molesting their daughters) in a refusal to accept that little rich white girls were sexually assaulted by their dads.
All Republicans offer their supporters are hate and data centers. They create no jobs, people get sicker and poorer and then they spend all their time trying to make sure they can stay in power.
