General heads-up on what this personal twitter account is for:
- retweeting stuff I find useful
- expressing my (unpopular) opinion about art and stuff.
- complaining. Cuz I have nowhere else to do it.
- babbling.
Can't tolerate any of these, don't follow me plz.
@rainysara But if a person I was talking asked me not to use the term female when talking to them specifically, I'd stop.
It's just getting rid of the word altogether I'm not getting rid of.
@rainysara Because not everyone is so violently offended by the word, actually most aren't, just you peeps trying to talk for everyone else. Which to be fair, this is a small group compared to 7 billion people.
I'm just fighting for my right to free speech.
@merveille@NSFW_Sadie@selfcestry Never said anything about your lab work, I don't even know you or really care. Also yeah, I agree. Context does matter, my argument is that the very existence of the word 'female' shouldn't be villainized... which is what everyone is doing.
@soveryfresh@NSFW_Sadie@selfcestry charged tyrants are ganging up like I just blurted out a slur, trying to get me to change my very pattern of speech, like I have no freewill. Being a female doesn't make you any less human.
After all, you came to me.
@soveryfresh@NSFW_Sadie@selfcestry personally.
6. By some people.
Lmao! I may prefer male pronouns, or neutral ones, but I do have ovaries. Just like you. So you request matters just as little as mine.
Oh, I do, when having a conversation with a specific person who prefers it. Just not when emotionally-
@soveryfresh@NSFW_Sadie@selfcestry something doesn't mean other people don't. Or maybe you just don't pay attention to that sort of thing.
4. Proof plz?
5. Um, no, because the word female can sound just fine in a sentence, just like gender neutral pronouns. You just don't use it, so it feels unnatural to you-
@soveryfresh@NSFW_Sadie@selfcestry subjective, some females (like yourself) find it offensive and want to police the very existence of the word, some aren't. What does transness have to do with someone finding the word female offensive?
3. Ah, another example of subjectivity. Just because you don't experience-
@soveryfresh@NSFW_Sadie@selfcestry 1. Yeah, people can do that sometimes. It's all about context, in the end female still = woman. Also, oooo I didn't know you were NB/trans. For the record I'd still call a trans female a female.
2. Your opinion has no bearing either. In the end what is dehumanizing is-
@DreazyBK@NSFW_Sadie@selfcestry similar to people who try to invalidate non-binaries with "using they/them/their is grammatically incorrect and sounds weird."
Listen dude, I know you want to be the freewill police, but I'll keep using 'female' regardless of how offended you are.
@DreazyBK@NSFW_Sadie@selfcestry Uh, let me repeat that " a word... that isn't a slur of any kind". But hell, you all sure are acting like I'm saying slurs.
Within the right context it is, but the word itself isn't. It's just another word for woman.
Also heard the weirdo bit. Arguments like that sound too-
@MerkMilly @OrcwardBound @NSFW_Sadie@soveryfresh@selfcestry I get that, but there isn't much logic behind it. I can understand when the word is used in a bad way, but the mere existence of the word in a casual setting gives no reason for offense. People use it all the time off the net, it's how you use it that matters.
@bianconeri541@soveryfresh@NSFW_Sadie@selfcestry Nice red herring. You know very good and well I didn't say anything about men not being emotional. But anything to make your argument feel valid, huh?
@DreazyBK@NSFW_Sadie@selfcestry Freedom of speech. The existence of the word is not a bad thing, I know how to not use it in a context that's derogatory, I'll keep using it out of personal preference. If asked to not use, I won't, but I won't change my pattern of speech entirely for a group of emotionally-
@DreazyBK@NSFW_Sadie@selfcestry No shit sherlock, I was referring to mammals within the context that humans are mammals.
Already saw that argument, woman = female, they both mean the same thing, woman just refers to humans specifically. Can you find info to back your point that isn't purely emotionally driven?
