Y’all just don’t know, what I been through this passed year & a half… Just know that’s all God🙏🥺

He will test your faith, keep trusting, stay patient, and believe in His timing. Never lose hope or give up. Your breakthrough is coming. 💯

[John Volpe @ProfJVolpe]

This is some pretty, pretty awful football. I'm hoping the people there are still having a good time #fortheshoe #WSHvsIND

[John Volpe @ProfJVolpe]

@Joe_MainMixon @ononesock I hope you are well, and back out on the field soon!

We called Klint Kubiak the hire of the offseason and said he would have instant Ben Johnson kinda impact. But this is beyond! So happy for Raider Nation.

[Raider Posts @RaiderPosts]

I’ll just leave this here.

[John Volpe @ProfJVolpe]

@Mo12thMan I’d be trying for Downs or Odunze

[Jonathan Taylor @JayT23]

Wait what?? 😂😂 It was a fresh league-sponsored Pepsi ‼️

[John Volpe @ProfJVolpe]

Lucky to watch this man play 🙏🏻

[John Volpe @ProfJVolpe]

Can't comprehend how someone doesn't enjoy his energy and watching him play. Warrior 💪🏻🙌🏻 #grit

[Paul Zeise @PaulZeise]

All of these leagues can show how much they support their players and keep them safe by disassociating themselves from every gambling site and/or casino they currently are in bed with

[John Volpe @ProfJVolpe]

I'm almost finished with my second manuscript, and it focuses on this topic (and integrity debates). It's close to 80,000 words, and the “evidence” isn't exactly flattering. I tried reaching out to NFL league officials and didn't hear back from any of them. Thankfully, plenty of mental health clinicians, sports psychologists, and other stakeholders did discuss it with me.

The NFL, MLB, MLS, NBA and NHL joined with their respective players’ unions today to crack down on betting-related harassment of athletes, coaches and families.

“Threatening the safety of an athlete or their family members over a sports bet crosses a bright ethical and criminal line, and it is entirely unacceptable,” the group wrote to gaming regulators in 35 states and the District of Columbia.

[Oscar Combs @wildcatnews]

You’re going to witness tons more of these incidents on the college and (eventually) the high school level as legal sports gambling swallows America. You asked for it, now you got it.

[Aaron Nagler @AaronNagler]

This is, of course, abhorrent behavior. Abhorrent behavior the leagues knowingly opened the door for.

[Andrew Brandt @AndrewBrandt]

This is, unfortunately, the dirty underside of the bargain they have all made to embrace the monetization of sports betting.

@TonyDungy 🙌🏻😊

[Tony Dungy @TonyDungy]

Pastor Hal gave the message at Grace Family Church this morning. The series is on why we can believe in Jesus. Yes we have to have faith but there are some things that can be proven historically.
Did Jesus live? Yes there are accounts of his life, many written by non-Christians

Did Jesus die? The crucifixion process was brutal and was documented by many eyewitnesses.

Did Jesus rise from the dead? That’s the hard part to verify but it’s the critical part of the story. There were many eyewitness accounts —hundreds of people who claimed they saw Jesus alive. Witnesses like Paul and James changed their whole opinion of Jesus and their mission in life after they saw him resurrected.

Were they just making it up? I don’t think so but that’s where the faith portion comes in.

[The Dark Side @darksideseattle]

In episode 1 of THE DARK SIDE podcast @derick_hall9 said "any guy can be ready to play at any moment." That turned out to a deciding factor in Week 1’s win over the Patriots

Brian Burns says athletes love saying it’s a business until the business makes a decision they don’t agree with

“Not getting extended in Carolina was my pivot. People say they understand it’s a business until they go through it.”

“I was always one to say, ‘Yeah, I know it’s a business. Take care of your body, all that. I got it.’ But when you really go through the ups and downs of contract negotiations and thinking you’re supposed to get something that isn’t entitled to you, that’s when you really realize it’s a business.”

“No matter how much I did for Carolina, or how much I thought I should’ve got paid, or just being a nice guy and doing everything right, at the end of the day, our timelines didn’t match up. That’s the business part.”

“I understood that, but it took me some time to go through those emotions and understand, ‘Yeah, it just didn’t match.’ I made that pivot. I’m okay. Being in New York, I’m doing good.”
