Announcing a first in Australia - linking primary care and hospital data for cancer research for the first time. Thank you @MaryAnneThomas@VicGovAu for supporting this vital work that will unlock answers to real world questions and improve outcomes. Congrats @ProfJonEmery & team
The CRISP tool increased risk-appropriate screening for bowel cancer in general practice settings, specifically for patients with average risk who were due for screening. It's a promising step towards implementing this tool in practice.
New paper alert 🚨 How do we find the right test for each person when it comes to #bowelcancer#screening? We tested a new online tool #CRISP which uses personalised #risk profiles to detect cancers earlier!

In Adelaide today for the annual @PC4TG Strategic Planning Day. We gave an update on the new MRFF-funded SMARTERscreen trial around increasing #bowel#cancer screening through personalised SMS messages. This builds on the success of the SMARTscreen trial @M_Jefford
We began developing the CRISP trial ten years ago.
The RCT tested a risk-prediction tool for colorectal screening in general practice. In parallel, we conducted an implementation study with practice nurses in a primary care setting. Thanks to PC4 for supporting this study.
Changing practice is a crucial outcome of primary care research. Here, we ran an implementation study alongside an RCT for a colorectal cancer risk tool for screening in general practice. @ProfJonEmery @ShakiraMilton @jenmcintosh22 @sibel_saya @markaj64 https://t.co/CctKQQG5Ft
