We have a responsibility to protect and advocate for vulnerable populations. I'm at a loss for words as to why we would target the disability community in this way. We cannot properly recruit educators with these limitations. Nor can we perform appropriate audits.
“So far on this single bill, an amendment was offered the night before the committee slashing their continuation from 8 to 2 years without ever communicating with ASDB; the GOV Committee time was moved up by an hour with less than 24 hours' notice, causing the community to scramble to notify those wishing to speak…”
Try talking to the community before you speak on their behalf.
You know that the Conference Committee recommend 8yrs., the House passed 8yrs., the community asked for 8yrs.

Hear directly from your Democratic Leaders on the Senate Government Committee about the disrespect Chairman Hoffman and Senate Republicans conintue to throw at the Arizona School for the Deaf and Blind (ASDB) ⬇️ #azleg
So very proud to be an ally to the #DeafBlind community this morning in support of #ASDB#HB2456. Thank you to @mendezforaz and @priya4az for hearing our testimony and amplifying authentic #deaf and #blind voices. I appreciate you so very much!
A bill to continue the Arizona School for the Deaf and Blind will get a hearing March 29 in Senate Government Cmte, says chairman Sen. Jake Hoffman. Asked if there will be changes to HB2456 -which would keep the school operating for another 8 years - he said "watch the hearing."
