In the last year, Greg Abbott and Texas Republicans passed a law eliminating ANY permit requirement for guns — and then slashed $211 MILLION from Texas’s mental health budget.
If you know someone who is diabetic, they should know that 92% of House Republicans just voted against a standalone bill that would simply cap the cost of insulin at $35/month.
@RainaBrands I was a single dad with 3 kids, 2 of whom needed to see the nurse every day (T1 diabetes). The elementary school was able to always call/text me first. But I was also in daily communication with the nurse and often the teachers. It took a LOT of face time to get them to adapt.
@DrKlapperich It’s now a year later. Have kept off most of the Noom pounds, but The struggle is real. Not counting every calorie anymore, but still mentally applying the Noom. I’m not sure that I’ve gotten anything from Noom beyond the first 6 months. But those lessons were valuable to me.
@DrKlapperich I’ve struggled with obesity since adolescence, often just giving up. BMI > 40. During sabbatical, I made a bunch of changes and was able to drop 75lbs. Then plateaued. Then joined Noom & quickly dropped to BMI < 25 for the first time in 30+ years! Noom lessons taught me a lot.
