I am delighted to share that I have been appointed a fellow of the Keller Center for Cultural Apologetics. It is a great honour for me both because of the valuable work that the Center does & because Tim Keller’s writings and preaching have been so helpful for my life and faith.
We are excited to introduce the next class of fellows at The Keller Center. These six pastors, scholars, and marketplace leaders will collaborate alongside our other fellows in the work of “connecting the dots” between the eternal gospel and our present moment. https://t.co/6DJ7VjhSiZ
"I truly believe that I'm in the AFL for a purpose bigger than just playing footy and it's to spread the goodness of Jesus."
Ollie Dempsey wasn't always comfortable talking about his faith. For the first time, he details his beliefs & bond with Gary Jnr.https://t.co/JrNjWN3w2l

These questions led me to open a book of sermons from the theology shelves next to my desk. Where I went from that winter day in Oxford is woven throughout Priests of History. (4/4)
In my mid-twenties I was young, successful, and ensconced at Oxford, where I had always wanted to be. I was pursuing my dreams and was free from almost all obligations to anything outside of myself. How could I be restless if I had everything I wanted? (1/4)
I had no grounding in any larger narrative; my life was primarily a quest for self-discovery, self-fulfillment, and personal happiness. I did not see myself as a part of any enduring historical communities that might help frame a deeper purpose for my life. (3/4)
I was distracted by a discomforting realisation: every achievement merely landed me at the bottom of another ladder. Yet these ladders were entirely self-created. (2/4)
Reading Sarah Irving-Stonebraker's outstanding new book deepened a conviction that's been forming in my heart: namely, studying history is uniquely suited to meet certain needs in the modern heart.
I used to wonder whether church history or apologetics was more my calling and passion. Increasingly I feel that both are needed and interconnected: engaging history raises questions of beauty, meaning, and sacredness that chip away at secular assumptions. Like C.S. Lewis reading John Milton and George McDonald, many modern people may find the gospel alluring and intelligible through exploring the richness of the premodern world.
Check out Sarah's excellent new book, which will help us all think about this.

Studying history develops our character. When we study history, we cultivate certain habits of mind that orient us towards truly listening to other perspectives and exercising an intellectual empathy to help us understand.
We must understand how we can engage in the practice of history. In this book, I argue from a biblical position that all Christians are called upon to tend and keep history—to be priests of history. Visit https://t.co/eLVNXdKX0r. (2/2)
Growing up in a secular home in Australia, I had been an atheist and a critic of religion for much of my life. I am now a Christian and an associate professor of history. The path of my conversion is woven throughout my upcoming book Priests of History, releasing Sept. 24.
It was a privilege to spend some time speaking with @JusBrierley for his new podcast The Surprising Rebirth of Belief in God. Having listened to the first few episodes, this is a podcast I highly recommend for all, Christian or not, who are interested in the big questions in life
