I am making a documentary about the use of disability in horror films. Please share the video so I can find potential investors or really any directors, writers, scholars, activists, etc that would be interested in being interviewed. #disability#horror

"Texas has proposed a mask ban, which could impact everyone who wears face or head coverings. Masking=LOVE. Write to your local legislators. Always wear your mask in public spaces that disabled people have to occupy. Let's normalize masking." @BaileyDevine20#MaskTogetherAmerica
Really exciting addition to the Companion series I run put together by the brilliant editors Svetlana Zeybel and Kati Dlaske. Out soon and you WILL need it on your bookshelves!

🧵 Just 15% of people wearing N95 masks could drastically reduce COVID in our community. We don’t need everyone to mask up for it to make a big difference—here’s why.👇
1The Power of a Small Group: We don’t need 100% compliance to stop COVID in its tracks. If just 15% of the community wore N95 masks, we could drastically reduce the spread. That’s 1 out of every 7 people making a difference for everyone. 🌍💡
2How Collective Action Works: Think of it like pulling on a rope in a tug-of-war. The more people on your side, the easier it is to win. With even 15% of the community masking, we create enough resistance to slow down and squash COVID transmission.
3The Impact of 15% Masking (Based on Forecast): This forecast shows that at 15% N95 mask compliance, infection rates could be cut by 40-50%. That’s massive—imagine cutting the spread of an infectious disease in half, with only a small portion of the population masking up!
4Empower Yourself to Protect Others:
You don’t need to wait for everyone else to act. Be part of the 15% who make a real difference. Your choice to wear an N95 helps protect you, your family, and the community, especially those most at risk.
5A Small Action with Big Results: It doesn’t take much—just a few more people masking up can prevent hundreds of thousands of infections. That’s fewer sick days, fewer long-term effects, and fewer people in hospitals. It’s a win for everyone.
6Why Empowering 15% Works: COVID spreads through the air, and masks act as barriers. The more barriers we have (even if it’s only 15% of people), the harder it is for the virus to spread and take hold.
7Think of the Collective Benefit: This isn’t just about you. It’s about what we can do together. If 15% of us mask up, we protect the elderly, those with health conditions, and people who can’t mask up themselves. That’s community care.
8The Road Ahead: We don’t need everyone to mask, but we need enough of us to take action. Being part of the 15% could squash the next wave of COVID, keep our schools open, and allow us to live safer, healthier lives.
So let’s start small and build from there. Be part of the 15% who care enough to act and help squash COVID before it spreads. #MaskUp #COVID19 #CommunityAction
@Friesein The CVS in Target at 7302 University Ave., Lubbock, TX has a small number of Novavax shots (under 10). When you go, double-check with the pharmacist that it’s Novavax, because the system switched mine to Pfizer without warning.
Novavax Availability Update 📢
CVS Stock - September 13, 2024
First of all, if you're in AL, FL, GA, NC, SC, TN, or VA, use Publix instead of CVS. CVS does not deserve your business. CVS has made the Novavax rollout incredibly difficult with their untrained staff, poor inventory management, and lackluster customer support. This may seem odd to say on a post listing out CVS stock, but I'm here to support breathing people, not corporations. Publix now has their vaccine finder online on Novavax's site (see reply to this post).
If you must use CVS, first try to get a real person on the phone. Use my cheat code posts below. If that doesn't work, then leave a voicemail. Failing that, go in person, and if they don't have stock, ask them to check their inventory at other local stores (which they can do within a limited radius).
CVS corporate is monitoring stores closely to see which ones need more stock ordered. By sending me your CVS addresses where you got Novavax, we can feed into that demand signal and make it available to more people. This may seem like a contradictory message on a post denouncing CVS as a chain, but I'd rather get more vaccines in arms.
If you don't see your state or city listed here, that doesn't mean there's no Novavax at your local CVS, it just means that nobody reported it to me.
NOTE: From early reports, the CVS phone tree does not necessarily give out accurate Novavax stock information. However, I do know that in some cases stores had Novavax sitting in a refrigerator and didn't even make it into inventory, so ask staff to check their refrigerator even if their computer says no.
Someone reported that there's a GoodRx coupon to save money on CVS vaccines, so I'll include it below.
If you know of any locations (regardless of pharmacy chain) offering Novavax JN.1 in these states, please let me know! If you're feeling bored, antsy, and want to help other people find Novavax, cold call pharmacies and let me know what you find! And please, send me the full address of the locations you're finding. If you send me incomplete info that's a google search per location. And I get hundreds of locations.
Here are states I'm especially looking for availability data from: AK, AL, AR, CT, DE, GA, HI, ID, IN, KS, LA, ME, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, NM, NV, OH, OK, RI, SC, SD, TN, VT, WV, WY, MI, HI
Tweets preferred but DMs are also fine. I want to make sure I'm respecting everyone's privacy. I get so many DMs that I can't respond to everyone; so thank you for all the reports you've been sending!
And if CVS bothers you with their approach this season, please use the feedback form I'll include in a reply to this thread. Tell them what they're doing wrong. Channel your rage!

A key point missing in a lot of post debate analysis is that Trump’s claim about immigrants eating pets almost perfectly syncs up to the piano in the Peanuts theme song.
legend of stage and screen James Earl Jones, a man whose voice was as renowned as roles he played, has passed away. he was 93.
his connections to cleveland will forever include the narration of this 1978 documentary, Cuyahoga.”
RIP.
Strange Brew may be one of the greatest Canadian films ever made, and it is beloved to this day by many.
But how did it come about and how did it cement itself in Canadian culture?
Let's learn more about the film about the hosers themselves, Bob and Doug McKenzie!

Returning briefly to this hell site to share that my department is hiring TWO tenure track faculty this coming year in "Native American/Indigenous People's Media" and "Historiography". Both positions are quite open in terms of specialization. Links below, please share widely!
As you can hear in this full recording, the Wilhelm scream guy was doing a bad job until the recordist told him to do it better, resulting in the iconic sound effect.
So everyone, give your supervisor a li'l kiss on the cheek this Friday.
