@drewlevin I know you blocked me but here another day on the rift! I wish you would be as harsh as you are with the cheater for people with toxic criminal behaviours. I could not catch the call for suicide this time.
@LlewdLloyd@drewlevin@VioletRavenlol In *United States v. Cassidy* and several state-level cases, courts confirmed that directing harmful speech at individuals online is not automatically protected by the First Amendment when it crosses into targeted harassment.
@LlewdLloyd@drewlevin@VioletRavenlol CIVIL LIABILITY — Even if criminal charges don't stick, the target can sue for intentional infliction of emotional distress (IIED), which requires showing conduct was extreme and outrageous.
@LlewdLloyd@drewlevin@VioletRavenlol CRIMINAL HARASSMENT — Under federal law (47 U.S.C. § 223) and most state codes, using electronic communications to harass, abuse, or threaten someone is a criminal offense.
@LlewdLloyd@drewlevin@VioletRavenlol Yes, telling someone to kill themselves can actually be illegal in several ways depending on jurisdiction:
CYBERBULLYING LAWS Many U.S. states (CA, NY, FL, etc.) have explicit cyberbullying/cyberharassment statutes. Repeatedly directing someone to self-harm online can qualify.
@drewlevin, the three players mentioned in the post are still playing. Do Riot tolerate these behaviours and let people play (or come back after a punishment)?
Hi @drewlevin , maybe it's possible to do something about those 3 individuals who are hardcore toxing about me and my friend cause she do the big mistake (kekw) to born as a woman ? :)
Thanks in advance :D
I tried to share information and different perspectives with @drewlevin. I was trying to show him the problems related to certain behaviours and the risks for Riot to keep tolerating them. I will keep studying criminal toxic behaviours and find way to fight it.
I am now blocked by @drewlevin. Some questions and toxic cases seem to be too hard to discuss. Inting? Boosting? This is ok to discuss. Toxic criminal behaviours? Not ok. This is hard to understand for a company with such a reach as Riot.
@CshroomM@drewlevin@VioletRavenlol Well not all crimes are physical actions: hate speech, death threats are just some examples (you can check the « proper law » in your country.
@Arongor_@drewlevin@VioletRavenlol Well it seems that from past post of Drew toxicity is part of product and strategy. I became a professor by completing a PhD. How dis you become AP rengar?
@Arongor_@drewlevin@VioletRavenlol You should check Drew’s position. I am just observing the topics he decides to discuss and the actions he is taking (and for what reasons).
@drewlevin@VioletRavenlol That’s some VIP support service. In the meantime when I report calls for suicide, homophobic comments or hate speech (which are criminal behaviour while smite a canon is…how to say it?) @drewlevin will not answer, ask game ID, IGN to do something about it. #riotsenseofpriorities
@drewlevin Homophobic comments and hate speech. I believe this is forbidden by Riot terms of services. It is also criminal. It seems to be a smurfing account (level 44 - platinium). Let's see if this account gets banned. https://t.co/PT7Y5FCghs
