Bob was celebrated at his funeral as an Australian patriot and an honourary chief of New Ireland, PNG.
He saw us all as connected by our common humanity.
Godspeed, my friend, and God bless your wonderful family.

A sad week farewelling my old boss Bob Sercombe, a former Shadow Minister for Overseas Aid and Pacific Islands Affairs. Bob had a big heart for the Pacific, and did the hard work convincing his fellow MPs of the importance of Oz-Pacific seasonal work.

An honour to attend Papua New Guinea Prime Minister James Marape’s historic address to the Australian Parliament this morning. PM Marape’s speech was powerful, moving and gracious. It's the first time a Pacific leader had addressed the Parliament – hopefully many more to come!
Our Director, @Prof_DPeebles , and Deputy Director, Dr @Henry_Ivarature , provided updates on our learning and policy engagement activities and security cooperation work.
