@sweetnfreee43 @JRubinBlogger@tribelaw 100%. Assassinating a president or Senator is far more damaging to our democracy than killing of a homeless person. Unless the harshest punishment is meted out for assassination it will become a political tool. Killing RFK changed history. Can’t be compared to a random murder.
The Heritage Foundation is hosting a 3/25 event titled "The Crown Under Fire: Why the Left's Campaign to Cancel the Monarchy and Undermine a Cornerstone of Western Democracy Will Fail"
Because undermining the monarchy has never been a part of American democracy, apparently.
Thankfully, we have a 2d amendment that allows true
patriots to carry assault weapons to help ensure that Trump remains in office! (This is the Defeat the Steal rally on November 14, 2020, in Salem, Oregon.)
@SUNSETSAPPHICS@stolenbytigers I endorse heartily. And one correction: The last execution in California occurred Jan. 17, 2006, when Clarence Ray Allen, 76, was put to death.
PA AG Josh Shapiro writes "These continued attacks on our fair and free election system ...are a scheme by the President and some in the Republican party to disregard the will of the people—and name their own victors. This isn't a pick your own ending novel—this is a Democracy."
How often do you see a social scientist make a prediction about what will happen over the next 20 years and then go back and see how things turned out?
@Prof_Donohue and I do that for abortion and crime in a newly published paper: https://t.co/V3rHxNK3dx
Krugman noted today that roughly 30,000 Americans died of Covid-19 in August as opposed to only 4,000 deaths in the European Union, which has a larger population. How will the Vichy Republicans spin this?
@Andrew___Baker Yes, the sad part is that Cesare Beccaria writing in 1764 had it exactly right that swift and certain punishment was effective and remote and large punishments were ineffectual and harmful. Then Becker came along and flipped it around, basically setting back knowledge 200 years!
