BREAKING: Court jails South African woman for 25 years for importing 5.75kg of heroin into Nigeria

The Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday sentenced a 38-year-old South African woman to 25 years in prison for smuggling 5.75 kilogrammes of heroin into Nigeria through the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.

Justice Obiora Egwuatu passed the sentence, stressing that Nigerian law does not respect emotions.

In August, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) arraigned Will Jessica Ann before the Federal High Court in Abuja, where she pleaded guilty to unlawfully importing 5.75 kilogrammes of heroin into the country on July 6.

The Joint Alasalatu Groups from across Oyo State gathered as one to pray for me and for victory in the upcoming 2027 elections.

The Joint Alasalatu Groups were ably led by our renowned Islamic clerics, Imam Basunu, Sheikh Onihantu and Sheikh Giwa.

As the prayers went up, the entire praying ground came alive with one powerful voice. With every Du’a, the people responded with a resounding “Ameen” that reverberated across the praying ground.

It was a deeply spiritual and emotional moment. To stand there and see our people come together in faith, raising their hands and asking Allah to guide and grant us victory, is a responsibility I hold very deeply.

Your prayers, your hopes and your belief in the possibility of a better Oyo are what make this journey meaningful.

Oyo AHEAD is about taking that hope forward.

It is about an Oyo State where our children have better opportunities through quality education, where our people can access better healthcare, where our communities benefit from good infrastructure and security, and where every household has the opportunity to prosper.

To our Islamic Clerics, we appreciate your spiritual guidance and prayers today and always.

That is Olagunsoye Oyinlola behind Seyi Makinde. He is one of Daddy Obasanjo’s boys who governed Osun State from 2007 to 2011.

Today, Peter Obi showed up at Seyi Makinde’s presidential campaign flag-off in Abuja.

This is one thing I see as an OBJ theory, and from my insider in Obasanjo's camp, a strategy to push Atiku out of the race and lock in Oyo and Osun States for Peter Obi. Lagos State is also already a sealed vote, based on the outcome of the last presidential election.

All the South-East states are already in the bag. The North-Central and Middle Belt are also in.

The core North, including Kano and Southern Kaduna, is sealed.

All the South-South states are also in the bag, Wike would always move like a Yaba left patient but would be disgraced.

Tinubu is only left with Ogun and Ekiti States from the West, Katsina, Borno, and a minority northern State.

This time, he is only winning one out of the Kardashian states, which is just Katsina, and only for 50 percent votes while Atiku and Obi take the rest.
