As a language teacher, I normally discourage the use of translators in class — but I admit they can be useful in real-life contexts ! Today in World Cultures, an elective I teach (in English), a student used Google translate to ask another if he had gotten lost yesterday, because

She noticed he had gotten off at a different bus stop than usual. It turns out there are two stops about equistant from his house. I loved how sweet this interaction was, and how students used the tools at their disposal to look out for one another. 🥰 #kindnessiscontagious
