Always find that kind of comment odd anyway. If we accept French characters speaking English (or in this film anything but medieval French) the accent doesn’t matter. It’s not more realistic for them to retain a French accent speaking a different language.
I think my favorite thing about Star Trek is that they predicted tablets but in a way in which every tablet can only hold a single piece of information so if you wanted to work off an iPad you'd need about 75 of them
@ProfofEvil Can’t have generations of super humans in the public eye, and then Clark has the idea of crime fighting in a cape ex novo. People joke Kansas is isolated, but it becomes an either or.
@saintwalker98 People in the MCU worship the way we worship, pray the way we pray, have the myths we have, except when gods are on panel. Honing in on that dissonance is the entire point.
@saintwalker98 Lots of people prayed to Dionysus for healing, his sacred places were said to have healing properties. More generally, my point is a personal grudge against each victim misses the point that it’s a debate about divinity generally.
@saintwalker98 Gods, as treated by people in the world resembles earth at all, are by definition not some random species of sentient beings - they claim to have created the world, set its moral order and are worshipped.
@saintwalker98 It’s the dissonance between comics cosmology and human experience that’s the point. It’s not a catch-all term for a power tier, like mutant or metahuman (“The New Gods are under siege from the Elder Gods of the Godwall. Only the Godsword can shatter through!”)
@saintwalker98 “People prayed to you and you did nothing either because you can’t or won’t” is humanity’s oldest protest against gods; “you are a jerk who specifically deserves to die” is normal revenge saga.
@saintwalker98 If you are killing gods because they are worshiped without being the correct combination of all-powerful, all-benevolent and all-knowing, that’s specifically theology.
@ProfofEvil The former is fundamental to having them share space, and done well, can fruitfully imply an unseen higher order stretching in all directions (“wait, did the green ray get built on the orders of weird angels?”) and the latter is small.
@ProfofEvil There’s the difference here in linking effects (“swamp thing is Green so he is affected by my colour green ring”), which is good, and causes (“swamp thing is green, so he comes from the green origin”).
