Inspired by @up_utp and the recent upload of Phil Brown’s goal at Colchester United, I went digging for my records of the @KTFCOfficial 1990-91 season. Found it, and will post the @Match_Magazine reports on this thread. I was a very sad 16 yo statto.
🫡 Introducing our new captain...
✍️Peterborough Sports are delighted to announce the signing of experienced centre-back Carl Mensah ahead of the new season.
The 30-year-old defender joins the Turbines after most recently featuring for Kettering Town and also enjoyed successful spells with Bedford Town, where he made over 100 appearances.
Welcome to the Turbines, Skip! 👊

@up_utp Thanks mate, I was looking at the date of the National (week before), FA Cup SF’s (the Sunday after), thought it might be a localish thing as Tranmere played a lot of games on Fridays…didn’t think to look at Witton!
@KTFCOfficial 1990-91 Season part 8.
Match 35 Poppies 2 Telford 5. Poppies destroyed by Benbow and Langford. With Walwyn’s career now over, Ernie gets a recall and, looking at the side (Nicol on the bench) the team looks old and tired. The team that was 15 points clear now 4th.
Match 38 - Col U 3 Poppies 1
The game that inspired this thread. Brownie with Anglia goal of the season got the fans dreaming, but 3 goals early in the 2nd half just about ended title aspirations.
Went on the coaches with James Pocock. Amazing away terrace. Gutted.
Match 37 - Northwich 0 Poppies 1
Friday night at the Drill Field (one of my faves) with Dad and 3 Timsons. No idea why it was a Friday.
Jonny Graham starts and gets the winner! The Poppies are back at the top of the table, if only temporarily.
@LNRailway WTF on the 14:20 from Euston! A driver change at Northampton and the drivers gone missing for 30 minutes. There’s people in this train trying to get to flights from Birmingham international!
Abysmal service.
@LNRailway@AvantiWestCoast Sat in a train at Northampton (14:20 from Euston), not moved for 20 minutes, no idea what is happening. Disgraceful service.
@up_utp Listened to the video uploaded from last night. Not been keen on the way this has been done (maybe BP felt it was the only way to break the impasse)… but I hope GA now rethinks and an agreement can be reached.
