🚨 18-year-old Nolan Xavier Wells has been MISSING since July 4th after a boat trip to Horn Island, Mississippi with 3 friends. 🛥️ 🏝️
His friends returned to the mainland on the boat WITHOUT him — they thought he caught another ride. His phone was later recovered and returned to family. 👀😳
After sitting here watching NBA free agency this year and overall NBA movement over the past 2 years somebody has to say it....
The new CBA was sold as parity, but the first and second apron are starting to function like a hard cap on player value, team continuity, and player movement.
Teams are no longer making purely basketball decisions. They’re making fear-based apron decisions. That means good players get squeezed, homegrown cores get broken up, fan-favorite teams lose their identity, and the overall product loses some of the nostalgia and continuity that made people fall in love with the NBA in the first place.
This isn’t about players not understanding business. It’s the opposite. We understand that the NBA is a business. That’s why the @TheNBPA has to operate with elite business acumen, elite negotiating strategy, and real foresight.
The owners and the league walk into these meetings with killers that continue to run circles around us time and time again with elite lawyers, economists, cap experts, media strategists, and long term business operators. Players deserve a PA that is just as sharp, just as prepared, and just as aggressive about protecting our upside.
Too often, it feels like players are informed after the fact instead of being truly educated and empowered before decisions are made. That cannot continue.
The next CBA is a do or die moment for us as players. It's only going to get worse for us. We need transparency, accountability, and a serious re evaluation of who is representing us and how they are representing us.
This is not anti parity. This is pro player, fan, and product. The league is strongest when players are valued properly, great teams can stay together, and the people representing us are operating at the same level as the people sitting across the table.
Mikel Brown Jr. on his vision for the Nets:
“I was talking to Julius Randle about it the other day and he told me, ‘We’re gonna shock the world.’ That’s what we plan on doing.”
I want to follow and support Jaylen Brown but that would mean support the Celtics and that will never happen. I pray they trade him quickly so I can get a jersey
@GC_Remix I say offer him a max and make Detroit sweat , if they match S&T him we get an all star center with less expectations so he can grow properly , they match and keep they are cap locked , they let him walk we just use our own cap space win-win -win
@LegendOfWinning For the sake of the league hopefully the Hornets😂
Naz/Wemby Front court plus no one stealing Harper minutes could be the birth of a dynasty
@AdamOrecchio 4 picks for Duren?? The nets say no, only way it works if it’s 1 pick swap, 2 2nds, and a salary dump from Brooklyn. Detroit has to come up with the rest of those picks/assests why would Brooklyn facilitate this?
@SAINTNET1@MikelBrownJr1 It’s actually crazy that this is one of the few times Nets fans agree on pick and the general media is tearing it apart. I feel like this is a good sign and once MBJ is hoisting the Larry O Brien in BK true fans will come back to this moment
"Acuff, the brother is box office. ... He's got the potential to be box office, and I think if you're Brooklyn you have to think about that too."
—@stephenasmith on Brooklyn dropping the ball not drafting Darius Acuff Jr. first round 🗣️
@nickiswashed At this point you need a retired star like that to help build culture. VC deff abandoned us for minute but it seems like they made things right hence the VC night last year and we just gonna rock with him moving forward
