We are recruiting a Safe Sick Pay Campaign Director 🥳 as we capitalise on our 4 legislative changes and prepare for the next gain: to increase the rate of Statutory Sick Pay. If you know anyone that would be good please share.

On April 6th Labour extended sick pay to more workers and removed the 3 day waiting period.
This is the result of a decade of campaigning from trade unions and civil society.
Good to celebrate with friends from the Safe Sick Pay Coalition @Prog_Change.
We also heard powerful speeches from Tony @LeukaemiaCareUK, Nil @MindCharity, Sofia, #SafeSickPay campaigner & @roswynnejones@DailyMirror. Thanks to all the unions, businesses, charities, academics & experts who joined to celebrate our shared success & hopes for the future.

Good piece on BBC Moneybox covering in detail day-one sick pay rights which came in this week 🥳
The first two employers interviewed were very positive about the changes.
Pointing out 'this is about our people' and that paying decent sick pay is a good thing' 👍
Celebrating this week - statutory sick pay becomes a day one right for millions!
Thanks and well done to all the unions, charities, experts and employers who have campaigned for this.
The brilliant piece last Fri by @realbritainros is linked on this🧵
The Government has made hugely positive changes, with millions set to get a much-needed sick pay boost next week, thanks to changes in the Employment Rights Act 🥳
But this piece acts as a salutory reminder of the work ahead to build on these welcome reforms #SafeSickPay
Personal news: I started earlier this week as the Director of the Safe Sick Pay campaign, with the Centre for Progressive Change (@Prog_Change)
Hmu if you fancy a coffee to discuss the campaign and working together.
It is with great pleasure that we welcome Tom Darling @a_darling_tom today as our new Safe Sick Pay Campaign Director🥳
Tom brings a wealth of experience from his work on the Renters' Reform Coalition. He will be leading the campaign to see that all get the sick pay they need.
