My favorite kind of Star Trek episode is when they're like

"Look at the program I made for the holodeck! It's called 'Everybody shoots you with bullets every second'!"

and then the safety protocols get turned off because of a space anamoly

@TheLurker184997 It has some moments, but I feel like TNG, DS9, and Voyager already had humor that worked really well and didn't feel forced, and then you get wacky goofy comedy show that is just too on the nose.

Finally just finished Lower Decks. It's ok. Still not what I want out of Trek by a country mile, but it's still multiple miles closer than other Kurtz-trek.

Also I once made a tame comment about Lower Decks being ok but not quite Trek to me and the showrunner blocked me lol

I also think Toxic Avenger 2 is the best one though so take my tastes with a grain of salt

Some of it is that I think the show would have been fine had it not been turning old Trek's structure into a joke while running alongside other Trek that clearly hates old Trek. If something like this had come out while DS9 or Voy were airing, it would have been great.
