TRADE programme is introducing hydroponic technology to dairy farmers. Hydroponics is a method of growing plants without soil by using mineral-rich solutions in a water solvent and it has been adopted by dairy producers in Thyolo and Blantyre

DISTRICT DESK OFFICERS FOR TRADE PROGRAMME ORIENTED
TRADE programme organised a One-Day Engagement that aimed at orienting the Desk Officers to understand their roles and responsibilities. The meeting was held on 28th April, 2022 at Linde Motel in Mponera, Dowa.

TRADE programme has urged Ntchisi District Agricultural Extension Workers to start preparing for the implementation of various interventions aimed at achieving sustainable improved livelihoods of rural people in Malawi.

TRADE engaged Blantyre DAECC to allow the committee endorse proposed interventions for Dairy Value Chain. TRADE believes that effective partnerships will expand its reach and able to work with a wide range of like-minded service providers to deliver its universal mandate.

TRADE Programme, has commended Thyolo DAECC members for their active participation. The compliment comes following a DAECC meeting which TRADE conducted at Thyolo District Agriculture Office.

TRADE Programme had a meeting with Rumphi District Council Executive Committee (DEC) at Rumphi District Council Office on 6th January, 2022. The aim of the meeting was to present the general overview of TRADE programme to the District council Executive Committee.

TRADE engaged cooperatives in the sunflower value chain at Hillside Executive Lodge in Mponera, Dowa on 09th November, 2021. The aim was to bring these cooperatives on board and plan how best the production and productivity of sunflower can be improved.

TRADE met the Blantyre District Executive Committee at the District Council Office on 13th December, 2021 in the morning, where several stakeholders including the Non- Governmental Organisations (NGOs),Private sectors and officials from various government MDAs were in attendance.

TRADE programme is engaging stakeholders in the beef sector to map the way forward of sustainable production of quality beef that meets the domestic and international demand. The Stakeholder consultation meeting was held on 13th December, 2021 at Victoria hotel in Blantyre.
