@GOLF_com Shadow swing (no club) with lead arm in normal position and trail arm hand against your chest in a “finger gun” orientation. Then keep your “finger gun” pointed at the ground during the moment when your chest passes through the hitting zone on your downswing.
You hear people say that the best players use the ground to create power in their golf swing. People misunderstand this to mean that they push off the ground with their back foot in transition for power. They DO NOT push off the ground with the back leg/foot.
Rather, they let their weight shift to their lead leg subtly in transition and then post up on the LEAD/FRONT leg (push up from the ground with lead leg) just before impact. This creates the dynamic force that generates more speed and power and allows you to stay behind the ball.
