Juneteenth is gospel. “Release to the captives” came late to Texas in 1865. We sing “boundless salvation,” so we lament white delay, honor Black freedom, and commit to justice, not just charity. Freedom is coming. #Juneteenth
The Pastor writing as “Paul” still dared to write it in 1 Tim 4:10: God is “Savior of all people, especially of those who believe.”
Not some. All.
That’s why we toil at Pride, not to make God inclusive, but to undo the lie that queer people were ever outside. #faithfullylgbtq
“Come to me, all you that are weary… and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28
Pride is not rebellion. It’s weary people finally hearing Jesus instead of the wise and intelligent. His yoke is easy. Ours has been too heavy for too long. Come, find rest.

Australia Territory, 2022:
“The Salvation Army Australia acknowledges the significant hurt caused to LGBTIQA+ people… We are committed to be a safe, inclusive and supportive Christian movement.”
Change is slow. But it’s happening.

They call it "hard love," love that excludes to protect holiness. We've lived it: celibacy for life, skip your child's wedding, resign quietly. That's not 1 Cor 13 love. LGBTQ Salvationists already serve and preach. Hard love shrinks. Real love expands. We choose expansion.
The Army will feed you if you’re queer, but you can’t be a soldier, officer, or marry. If we did that by race we’d call it racism. For LGBTQ we call it doctrine. We called it that to stay in the room. It’s homophobia. God is bigger than that. And so are we.
I was kicked out of The Salvation Army. I did not leave.
Since my dismissal, the Army’s “ministry” to me has been a card at Easter and Christmas. This is this year’s
I posted that on Facebook today. The comments broke me:
“Never even received a card.”
“I have never heard from ‘them.’”
“My mum occasionally gets asked how I’m going.”
“Not just officers — we got sick, stopped attending, and heard nothing.
Ascension was Thursday. Pentecost is Sunday.
In between is the upper room — liminal, uncertain, praying.
The Salvation Army lives there too: we’ve fed the hungry and we’ve wounded our queer siblings.
Come, Holy Spirit. Let’s not waste the waiting. #FaithfullyLGBTQ
Years later she resigned to live as a queer woman. We kept her song. The Spirit still speaks through LGBTQ Salvationists — we just need ears to hear. #FaithfullyLGBTQ
The Salvation Army isn’t a club you join at 18. It’s a home you’re dedicated into as a baby. Homes don’t evict kids for being queer or tell officers to “go to another church.”
You’re home. Join us. Link in bio.
Heart to God. Hand to All.

#IDAHOBIT — The Salvation Army serves “without discrimination.” Today asks us to put it on our theology, too. Booth built us for the “whosoever.” Brengle warned faith dies when love leaks out. Our penance since 2014: love more than we judge. Heart to God, hand to ALL.
3/ This week a dismissed officer's photo was used to raise money for the Army he can't serve. That's not theology. That's outsourcing discrimination and calling it holiness.
