ICYMI: Honored to be featured in the South Asian Herald for a conversation about Maryland's future, the importance of representation, strengthening our partnership with India, and supporting immigrant communities.
I'm grateful for the opportunity to serve the state that welcomed my family—and committed to building a Maryland where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

The future of public service is bright.
It was a pleasure to welcome the students of the St. Albans School of Public Service to the State House today. Their thoughtful questions and passion for serving others remind me that the next generation is ready to lead.
A dangerous heat wave is expected to bring extreme heat and humidity to Maryland over the next several days, with heat index values that could climb above 100 degrees in many areas.
Take precautions now:
💧 Drink plenty of water
🌳 Limit time outdoors during the hottest part of the day
🏠 Stay in air-conditioned spaces whenever possible
👵 Check on older adults, neighbors, and anyone without access to cooling
🚗 Never leave children or pets in a parked car
A few simple steps can save lives. Stay cool, Maryland.
Today, on National Postal Worker Day, we recognize the dedicated postal workers who keep Maryland connected every single day.
Through heat waves, snowstorms, and everything in between, they deliver more than mail—they deliver medications, paychecks, ballots, care packages, and peace of mind.
Thank you to every postal worker for your service, your reliability, and your commitment to our communities. Maryland appreciates you.
Strong schools start with strong leaders.
I was honored to join educators, researchers, and policymakers from across the country at the Leaders Developing Leaders Summit to talk about why investing in principals is investing in our students, our communities, and our future. In Maryland, we'll keep building the leadership pipeline our students deserve.
Our differences are one of our greatest strengths. Disability Pride Month is a celebration of the talents, perspectives, and leadership that people with disabilities bring to every community across Maryland.
As we celebrate this month, we also recommit ourselves to building a state where every person can fully participate, contribute, and thrive. That's how we build a stronger Maryland for everyone.
Pride has always been a protest.
As Marsha P. Johnson reminds us, “No pride for some of us without liberation for all of us.”
The fight for equality didn’t end yesterday, and it won’t end tomorrow. In Maryland, we’ll keep choosing courage over fear, community over division, and justice over hate—for everyone. 🏳️🌈
It was a pleasure speaking with the South Asian Herald about our vision for Maryland's future. I'm grateful for the opportunity to reflect on how far we've come—and even more excited about the work ahead. Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey. Together, we're going to keep building a Maryland where every family has the opportunity to thrive.
The Constitution is not open to reinterpretation by executive order.
Today, the Supreme Court reaffirmed a principle that has defined our nation for more than 150 years: every child born on American soil is an American citizen.
Birthright citizenship is not a political favor, it is a constitutional right guaranteed by the 14th Amendment. No president or administration has the authority to decide which children deserve to be Americans.
Maryland will not leave our immigrant communities behind. We will continue to stand with them and defend the constitutional protections of every family that calls our state home.
Cancer touches nearly every family. That's why today's opening of the Mandy & Dennis Weinman Cancer Building at Sinai Hospital means so much.
This beautiful new facility represents compassion, innovation, and the belief that every Marylander deserves access to high-quality care close to home. Congratulations to @LBHealth everyone who made this vision a reality.
Today, the Moore-Miller Administration announced $6.3 million in high-priority overdose response grants through @StopOverdoseMD!
Maryland has cut fatal overdoses by half in the last three years thanks to the dedication of countless partners across the state who refused to accept the status quo. But our mission is far from over! We have to keep expanding access to care, because all overdoses are preventable, and one death is one too many.
The labor movement and the civil rights movement have always been strongest when they've stood together.
It was an honor to keynote the A. Philip Randolph Institute Northeast Regional Conference and join leaders from across the region who are carrying forward that legacy—fighting for dignity, opportunity, and justice for every worker and every community.
Together, we're building a Maryland where hard work is valued, every voice is heard, and everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
It was great to come together with Democrats from across Maryland for the 2026 Fight Back & Win Gala. Together, we will fight back and win in November! #mddems#VoteBlue
We recently welcomed advocates, community leaders, and changemakers to Government House to celebrate a simple truth: every Marylander deserves to live openly, safely, and authentically.
At a time when LGBTQ+ rights are under attack across our country, Maryland will continue to stand for dignity, equality, and belonging. Happy Pride. 🏳️🌈
This weekend, Democrats from across Maryland came together at the 2026 Fight Back & Win Gala to celebrate our shared values, our unity, and the work ahead. Together, we'll keep organizing, keep fighting, and win in November. #MDDems#VoteBlue
Welcome to all the pilots and sailors who've traveled across the world to show off their planes and ships to celebrate America’s 250th birthday at SAIL250 in Baltimore!
The world has sailed into Baltimore!
It was an honor to welcome crews from around the globe to Maryland for Sail250 and to visit the Indian Navy's INS Sudarshini—a meaningful reminder of my own journey from India to Maryland and the enduring ties between our two democracies.
Our harbor has always connected people, cultures, and opportunities. This week, it's showcasing the very best of Maryland to the world. ⚓🌎
Today, we announced more than $96 million to expand school-based behavioral health services across Maryland—connecting an estimated 200,000 students with counseling, crisis support, substance use prevention, family services, and more.
