Part of what makes Project Flamingo so special, is the amazing people behind the scenes who give up their time to help others. One of these special people is Dr Nkosilathi Dlodlo, one of our East London anaesthetists๐ฆฉ

Fantastic weekend tripled! ๐ฆฉ
Join us behind the scenes to see part of the magic that happens with our team at Livingstone Hospital in Gqeberha. Yesterday was a day filled with purpose at three hospitals we operate at. Livingstone joined George & GSH in a triple Flamingo weekend.
The selfless contributions of everyone involved is simply incredible โ from our compassionate patient support team to the dedicated volunteer surgeons and anaesthetists, the amazing nursing staff, and even down to the baristas and the creators of handmade cards.
Every cupcake and special touch adds to the heartwarming tapestry of our shared efforts. A heartfelt thank you to each one of you; we truly couldn't make a difference without your invaluable contributions.
Teamwork truly makes the dream work!

In a world that often feels vast and overwhelming, remember these words. Whether through a simple gesture, a kind word, or a warm smile, let's be beacons of empathy and understanding, recognizing the profound impact our presence can have on the lives of those around us. ๐โจ
Celebration day! ๐ฅ Today seems fitting to celebrate our PF teams at 4 hospitals who gave it their all over the past 2 weekends while Amabokoboko did just the same๐
We cannot help but draw some parallels to the battle on the field and the battle our patients face on a daily.
Itโs called grit. Itโs called luck. Itโs called a miracle. But above all, it is GRACE. Thank you, Amabokoboko for reminding us, no less than 3 times in a row that Grace is a patient but ever-present force. Just when we think it is impossible, Grace brings possible.
Just when we think we cannot go one more step, Grace carries us for the only step necessary. May we not forget this lesson in Grace. For ourselves, whatever our story. And for our country, because together we can write a beautiful story. Stronger. Together. By Grace.
Thank you to our teams for your heart, your compassion, and for pitching up for the most vulnerable amongst us.

From one team to another ๐
Today we trade our Pink for the Green and Gold because nobody knows better than us that we truly are stronger together. We are witness to the grit, resilience, compassion, and generosity of South Africans every single day.
We believe in you, Bokke!

Early detection ๐ฏ
Checking for changes in your breasts by regular self-examination is a great tool for early detection.
When? โฐ๏ธ๐
Do this 4 days after your cycle (if you have a regular one) or on the 1st of every month.
The month of October highlights the importance of Breast Cancer Awareness, now officially the most common cancer in the world, surpassing lung cancer according the WHO. The latest international health statistics indicate that 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed in their lifetime.
