The AI now assesses when to "overcharge" it's defensive PDC's! Below, the targeted ship is assessed to be PDC's "Hi", meaning torpedoes more likely to be intercepted. In this situation, proximity fusing is recommended to increase hit chances, but will reduce the damage outcome.
Targeting various subsystems now greatly changes your attack's hits chance based on where your ship is positioned relative to the facing direction of its target. For example, front-side attacks are more likely to damage radar or weapons systems.

Each ship in #ProjectEmber has unique abilities/traits. While testing tonight, I happened to get a screenshot of my Stealth Cruiser ambushing an enemy gunship where the enemy's PDC's failed to knock out the incoming torpedo.

"Commander, the target is obscured. Recommend switching torpedoes from Direct Impact detonation, to Proximity Detonation. While our torpedoes won't do as much damage, Proximity Detonation greatly increases the chance that we damage the target"

"Overcharging" a ship's Point Defense Cannons (PDC's) will increase their chances of intercepting an incoming torpedo, but use this strategically. The excess ammo burn will cost one of the defending ship's supply points.

Ships are now equipped with class-based Weapons & Armor packages . Selecting a ships now highlights which of your opponent's ships are vulnerable to your selected ship, and which have the upper hand.
