Also, these are the basic facts all of us Hyd'is should know: City was founded in 1591 by Mohd Quli Qutb Shah. His grandfather Sultan Quli, a Persian from Hamadan (Iran), founded the Golconda empire in 1518. The Golconda fort was a walled-city before Hyd was built.

On 17th July, 1857, 5000-6000 freedom fighters of Hyderabad made a daring attack on the British Residency building (now University Women’s College, Koti) to free the imprisoned mutineer Jamedar Cheeda Khan
@aslanpahari Mysore sultanate is technically a misnomer. It was a sultanate only until Tipu lasted and was one during his time. Otherwise the Mysore state was pretty much run by the Wodeyar Rajas.

Osmania Hospital, the High Court, Govt. City College, etc are a part of the skyline when one looks across the Musi River. All three were designed by the architect Vincent Esh, and were built around the same time under the CIB. Even slums were redeveloped under CIB. An example:
