First day of the second consortium meeting of PANTHEON. Robots and sensors are on their way, the measurement protocols are almost ready, and the calendar for the first measurement campaign has been decided. In an (hazel)nutshell, things are progressing !
From the kick-off meeting : Emanuele Graziani, leader of the Sigma Consulting unit and main responsible of the technological integration of PANTHEON, already at work on the software integration .
The coordinator of project PANTHEON (Andrea Gasparri - University of Roma Tre) and our expert of Big Data, Prof. Riccardo Torlone, from the same university during the kickoff meeting. Of the two, guess who is the big data guy ?
The PANTHEON team at the kickoff meeting. The team consists of engineers with different expertise and agronomists from 4 research universities (Roma Tre, ULB, Trier, Tuscia) one technological company (Sigma Consulting) and the Ferrero group as end user.
The leader of the agronomy work package (Valerio Cristofori, University of Tuscia) showing the test field during the kickoff meeting. From the very beginning PANTHEON will be developed and validated on a real hazelnut plantation in the Tuscia area.
The leader of the remote sensing work package, Thomas Udelhoven from Trier University, presenting the tree geometry reconstruction activity. The ultimate goal of this activity is to define optimized pruning algorithms to increase the hazelnut productivity.
