@jpt401 That is the main objective of the concept! Sadly the hotend turned out bigger than first anticipated, and because of that, it is not able to move the nozzle all the way over the threads, hence its not able to extend itself. But the next revision will be able to! Updates to come!

[Cont.1/1] The solution was to make the thread angle "negative". This way when the thread is loaded, the ladder and Z-screw attract rather than push themselves away.
By making the threads directional, printability is ensured, and the Infini-Z printer development can be continue!
Few weeks ago an issue was mentioned where the 60deg. thread angle pushed the plastic thread "ladder" away from the Z-screw. Back then this issue was patched up with a bracket and development could continue, but we knew this was not ideal. Today we have a solution! [Continues]
@alexandrosM Holy shit! that was easier than expected! Hardest part was when I hit my GPT-4 cap and had to figure the last tweaks out old school style with my brain π
[cont.4] Creating a new thread profile that is both printable and usable is a lot of work, so instead it was elected to simply make a bracket that keeps the ladder from bending. It also uses the same screw that is already holding the "barrel" in place!
[cont.3] This could have been resolved by making a new type of thread profile that has a "negative" thread angle. This would pull the lader towards the screw, and it would solve the problem.
